30 YEARS OF PERFORMING R&B FUNK & SOUL

Lights Out By Nine will celebrate their 30th year in the music business with a string of Summer Festival appearances throughout Scotland.  In addition to their regular shows, the band have been lined up to appear alongside other artistes including:

Nine Below Zero

Paul Lamb and The King Snakes

Martin Stephenson

“Hamish Stewart - A Concert for Matt”.

Soul legend and former AWB founding member Hamish Stewart will return to his hometown to perform with LOBN and fellow funksters JBIA at King Tuts in a fitting tribute to the late Matt Irving, a fellow Glaswegian, close friend and former band colleague of Hamish.  Hamish will feature with both bands on the night and perform a number of favourites old and new.  All proceeds raised will be in aid of Men United which both Hamish and Matt were closely involved.

" Here and Now" - Part 2

During the Summer, the band will return to the recording studio to complete the second part of their 2017 EP release Here and Now with another 5 tracks of new material planned. Added to that, the launch of the new web site and the LOBN YouTube channel its looking like a memorable year!

"History of the Band Now Running on our Facebook Page!!!"

First of all, apologies for lack of content of late, but we have all been affected in different ways by the "weirdness" of 2020 and it has taken a wee bit of time to get back to our website. The band are all good, and looking forward to getting back to some live gigs next year! In the meantime, we have been doing some walking down memory lane and if you go to the band 's Facebook page at facebook.com/lightsoutbynine you can catch up on the history, which has been running since April this year, and is set to continue for a while. We also hope to bring the history to this site soon!

Also, bass player, Dougie Hunter has been taking a walk down his own memory lane with radio series "From Ozzy to Onnie", currently broadcasting on K107FM, which covers a life steeped in music and a rich tapestry of "meets and greets" along the way. There will, of course, be much reference to LOBN! This series is also podcasting at lintonlanecentre/podcasts - Episodes 1 -7 available now, Episode 8 broadcasting soon, and 20 episodes in total!!!
